I think I'm done here. The snow is deep and its cold enough the deer are staying close to food. Unfortunately it's in the subdivision nearby in the form of bird feeders.  Besides got a deal on a steer this week. 800 lbs of beef cheaper than deer season

Never give up!! I sat in a fencerow tonite and had over a dozen within easy shooting range. We have meat in the freezer so was hoping to see a good buck.

Best one was an ear width 7 that needs a year. He was about 20 yds.

I was on ground testing a Sapper kill suit I bought after seeing a discussion on here. Set up between 2 osage trees about 6 ' apart, nothing out front to speak of and only buckbrush and a pasture behind.

Some big nannies came by and one looked me over and took a step to me but then went on.  Right before dark a smaller 8 was hazing a little doe , she came by at a fast walk 5' in front of me and the buck stopped 12' from me and nibbled on stuff. I turned my head a little to check out a noise and he head bobbed me twice and went back to nibbling stuff.

I don't remember who recommended that sapper suit but thank you!! I think with some proper back cover and a tree or two in fromt for drawing it will be awesome!!
Stay sharp, Kenny.

Headed out this weekend. Weather is low 30s at night, mid 50s during the day. We have until 15JAN20 to archery hunt. Lisa and I have already put two does in the freezer so far. Holding out for a buck until the last weekend or so and will punch another doe tag then.

I passed on this three and a half year old the first week of November.

THIS is the feller I am looking for. He was still chasing does (or chasing them again) the first week of December.

My tactics have changed. I have moved some blinds and a stand off the edges and into the thick stuff.

Our late season doesn't even start yet. It its the whole month of January. I have one doe tag left but I don't think I need the meat. I have to evaluate the freezer room.

I want to be out but can’t until after Christmas now.  I saw a nice, but young 4X4 three weeks ago.

I missed the main rut because of “work” . Which is way overrated I might add!
But second rut is in full swing! I’ve scouted out some new ground on public and plan a couple of all day sits before season ends

Got some time to go before it ends but I am kinda wore out.  Cant walk like I need to.  I may still give it a shot or two if the weather stays warmer....

Killed a doe a couple days ago. That wraps up the deer hunting, but I still have turkeys, coyotes, and cats to go after.

Gave a pass to a plump fawn at 12 yards tonight, was tempting.

Sat Monday Evening in the snow.  Saw over 20 deer.  4 bucks.  2 of the better bucks were chasing a fawn from 3:15 til dark within a 100 yards of me at all times.  Passed on 2 button bucks.  I love late season but by me, evenings are far better than mornings.  Hoping to get out tomorrow evening!
