I'm way off the charts but my 45# Kodiak Hunter is shooting(bare shafting) with Gold Tip 600's and a 300 grain tip.
Feathers and bare shaft grouping together at 10yds haven't tried 20yds yet got too dark on me. Should I just stick with this combo and be happy or try a lighter field tip?????
8 7/8 brace
1/8 nock point---flipper rest2
28 inch draw

You could shoot a longer arrow with a lighter tip. It's up to you.

From my experience, arrow and bare shaft group tuning won't lie. IMO, 10 yards is too close to be a difinitive indicator of tune. I'd suggest backing up 5 yards at a time making any adjustments you need along the way. By the time you get them grouping together at 20 to 25 yards, you'll be close enough for a hunting outfit.

I agree with Jim, 10 yds is to close to tell. 30 yds would give a better indication.

The BH flight in reference to the fletched field tipped shaft is the bottom line. Twenty yards proved long ago that 20 yards wasn't sufficient.
Have had bareshafts and fletched field point shafts seemingly stacking at 20 yards. Had shot the two for a week prior to trying BH's. The BH would consistantly mark 3-4"s right. ..lowered the brace ht approx 3/16 and then all three shared the same mark.
Dont know the min distance bareshaft tune that will realiably place a BH on the mark. Bare shaft tuning from 35 to 40 yards has never let me down when switching to broadheads.

I shoot 600 gtip trads full length with supplied inserts and a 175 fld tip out of my Bears paw 45@28FF I draw 27. I might have missed it but you didn't list what length your shafts are. I shoot the same arrow cut to 28 3/8 with 50grn insert and 175 fld pnt 1 inch footings 2117, out of my Blacktail 51@28FF and Dale Dye 48@26FF (51@27).
