I might just have to see what the fuss is all about.

What's up with the selfbow challenge?  Bring your own wood?

I would bring a limb prifile cut stave. You can get a full stave there if you want. Never know what grade wood youll get.

I know Sime cut split glued up plenty high grade pignut hickory staves wiil be there. Some will be full staves some will layed out and profiles cut and some reflex put in for sale.

Cut some Osage Limbs they will be ready by May for building!

I have the wood.  I just didn't know if you had to get it there.  On the flyer it says make it with Gary Davis so i wondered if we needed to buy wood from him.  Thanks for the reply.  Hope I get down there.

Gary will be there working but there are others of us that help under the bow shed, John. Usually there is plenty of wood there but if you have a well seasoned stave you might be better off. Lots of bow building and other stuff going on from the Friday before, through the week. Once the official opening of the Classic on Friday gets here the bow shed is open only for the Challenge members from morning until about 6pm. After that it open to anyone wants to work there through the night. There will also be flint knapping, arrow making, knife making and lots of other stuff to do. Never a dull time at the Classic. If you don't have fun, it's your own fault.

Yep Pat is correct.

Osage Outlaw (clint) not doing staves anymore so that about 1/3 or more that usually will not be there. The other note I will add that season wood usually is in a finite number of staves. So, if you have good seasoned stuff by all means bring to make a bow for the SB Challenge. The one I used for the Challenge last year was a knotty small Dia Hedge Apple stave about 6yrs old I had found stashed under my Old Town Canoe. Forgot I had it.

I was there for that Sista photo. That was before that bottle got gone. That was early 2018-2019 Classic pic.

Really would like to be there.  Thing is I would like to shoot the course but dont think my health will let me make it around now.  My wife went down a number of years ago and did a bow.  It turned out great and has really colored up since then.  She loved the building....

I guess we will see what happens.

hoping this is the year I can make, been wanting to go there for several years now.

I'd like to meet some of the folks I read about on the Life is Good thread, which, btw, is one best long running threads I've read on PA.
