So did the smooth on saturate the onion paper??
I can't say for certain. The SG did saturate the paper. I'm thinking that by keeping the paper narrow it won't be a structurally significant point. In addition, it hopefully will come in about 20# at 24 to 26 inches.

That riser accent looks like a challenge to get lined up, at least it would be for me.

Travis , it’s not bad . I just go kinda slow, if you grind too far , then you’d have to put an accent in to bring it back to straight in line...

Some very nice bows being made here!.Got a shot of three of my own recurve takedowns showing different approach in each that
I have made over time. Top bow is about 4 year old. just refinished it and made lighter limbs for it going down from 52# to 45#.

Nice bows Bob. I really like the wave in the one on the top. It has just enough of both woods to compliment each other very well.

Put the final touches on the granddaughters bow. I'm pretty satisfied with it although every bow tells a story of what can be done better. I'm already working on another one for my other granddaughter.
Some pictures. The string is a bit short and is fine for tillering but it will get a new string and some arrows. That first picture of the nock was taken before final sanding.

Wow she should like that bow
I had a pretty old 6x48 sander that I sold. I have the big Grizzly that does better. But I took the money to Harbor Frieght today. Can do scarf joints now.

Yeah Kenny. made of 3/4 plywood. 2x6 legs with two 1/4 bolts holding the top on. It has a bit of side wiggle but an angle brace would cure that. That sander box said 80 lbs. but more like 60 to me. Got rubber pads on each corner. pretty smooth running.
