Finally put a Timberwolf blade on my bandsaw today. The difference is so drastic I'm kicking myself for waiting so long. Time to cut some risers!

I've had one hanging on the wall for a couple months now. Really need get it set up.

At least once a day I pick up a recurve form template that I made months ago. Pick it up, look at it, touch it here and there with a sanding block and try to convince myself it's good to go.

I vote install it. Took about 20 minutes to move the guides, find the tension setting, and reset the guides.

As for that form, toss something on there and see how it comes out! I swear the longer I run my hand across the form the more invisible bumps appear...

Done some more sanding on the bow and just finished wiping EA-40 and acetone mix on the handle. First time I try this technique. Will see how it comes out.

I tried mixing ea40 and acetone once and just couldn't get it to come together not sure what I did wrong

Well this morning it was still tacky. Like a lot.
So now I am wondering if it was a good idea ???

I just did one too, it was tacky next morning but ea 40 takes 24 hours to set and my shop was 58 degrees ...it dried by the next day and steel wool seemed to work well on it.

Mike, it doesn’t mix very well and I may go 2/3 acetone next time so it’s thinner.

I put it on with a foam brush this time, didn't work too bad. Wiping might be better tho as I left a couple thick spots...

there is 20 min. finishing epoxy and the 3 hour is what I have mixed 50/50 acetone dries quicker. But it seems to sand hard. But fills well.

The hobby shops sell some kind of finishing epoxy. two component. Not sure how thick/thin it is though.

It’s still a bit tacky tonight but it did dry up during the day. Should be good for sanding by tomorrow

What are you adding to that resin to make it black?

That black is a couple of drops of left over Aluminite dye used for stabilizing. Jim sells some powder he uses to dye his resin. I have used leather dye even a couple of drops of Rit will work.It dont take much.

I think I’ll order some of that from Jim when I start making takedowns. Do you also add the carbon like he does in his video or do you only use fiberglass?
