With a little bit of extra time on my hands I decided to get the extra insulation down in the ceiling of my shop. I have had the materials here since November but when I had time the weather was bad. Well the shop is only 16x 9, an old garage that I could not put the car in and open the door. So I took the over head door out several years ago and framed it in to accommodate a 40" swing out door I made. Put 4 inches of insulation in the rafters and covered with OSB so I could still have storage up there. Insulated the walls and boarded it with OSB. Small in wall gas furnace keeps it warm but not enough insulation in attic, snow melts and freezes on roof causing ice dams.
Well so everything stored in the attic was taken out to the driveway, 2x6s nailed in, 6 more inches of insulation placed down and 7/16 OSB placed over the top. Can't hardly crawl though to nail it down, getting awful small up there. That was 2 days ago, I'm starting to be able to move without hurting to much today. Getting old ain't for sissies!!!!!
