Tried out a new epoxy today, its System Three's G2. I glued up several thin pieces of walnut similar to spectraply for the first time. So far I really like it we'll see how it holds. It reminds me of the epoxies I used back in the 1980s for building bows.

Flem I think I'll like it as well, its a little more expensive though.

Mike I'd need a ladder to spray the top of that bow.  :bigsmyl:

I have been making some special bow making tools for the upcoming St Jude auction. A guy gave me some exhibition grade walnut gunstock cut-offs. This stuff is unreal but I only had enough wood to make 4 gizmos, I even signed these because they are so special.

Buddy you can take it out of the vise and hold where you need it to be.And the long handle gives some leverage to hold it about any angle. Reclamp until next coat or can hang it to.

Great idea Mike, that would work great for my takedown risers.

For TD risers I use two long 5/16s bolts to hold and hang them while spraying.

With a little bit of extra time on my hands I decided to get the extra insulation down in the ceiling of my shop.  I have had the materials here since November but when I had time the weather was bad. Well the shop is only 16x 9, an old garage that I could not put the car in and open the door. So I took the over head door out several years ago and framed it in to accommodate a 40" swing out door I made. Put 4 inches of insulation in the rafters and covered with OSB so I could still have storage up there. Insulated the walls and boarded it with OSB. Small in wall gas furnace keeps it warm but not enough insulation in attic, snow melts and freezes on roof causing ice dams.
Well so everything stored in the attic was taken out to the driveway, 2x6s nailed in, 6 more inches of insulation placed down and 7/16 OSB placed over the top. Can't hardly crawl though to nail it down, getting awful small up there. That was 2 days ago, I'm starting to be able to move without hurting to much today. Getting old ain't for sissies!!!!! :)

Got sent home yesterday, my wife was displaying 'some' of the C19 symptoms and works with vulnerable people so went to get tested. I've been canned from work until the results come back, so might as well make the best of it

Worked on my latest Osage selfbow, 69" and hoping for 50+ @ 28" so I'm legal for deer. So far it's 45 @23 with a couple of whoopsies to work out so hopefully should come in on target. I had to do a little straightening and de-propping with dry heat which leaves it with a little deflex in one limb, and reflex in the other. The left limb is bottom with a slight reflex in the last 1/4 of the limb, and the right has a slight deflex about halfway out.

Steve, it looks like most all of your bend is in the handle area?

Leave the center 1/3 alone and get both mid limbs working. That will relieve the over binding in the handle area a bit...and don't bend it that far again until you correct the problem.
Are you exercising the limbs after each wood removal?

That looks cool Mike!!

I worked in shop and listened to it rain...

Started a bow blank for a feller with lams from scrap barrel and a riser block that was messed up on an end...
Stay sharp, Kenny.
