BLACK WOLF ILF limbs conversion question
« on: January 04, 2020, 11:44:40 AM »
I recently picked up a Black Wolf carbon 17" riser.  I am not pairing this riser to the standard BW limbs being offered by W&W.

For standard 66" ILF limbs, how many lbs. will I pick up?  I have heard 1 lb. Per inch versus 25"; or in the case 8 lbs, but I think this depends on limb pocket angles & other variables. I am trying to land with a rig that's 58" and pulls low 50's at my 27" draw.

Thanks in advance for any assistance. :goldtooth:

That's going to be pretty close.  Here's a link to Uukha's calculator. I've found it to be spot-on. All you have to do is plug in the numbers.

I put this chart together some time ago.  Some folks find it useful.

The Black Wolf makes for a sweet rig.  I had one rigged up with Max 5's, man what a bow, absurdly powerful smooth and fast.  I also used Uukha EX1's on it and preferred that setup because it was more mild mannered and "sweet" with equally smooth action.  I got rid of it because I got preoccupied with super tuning it haha.  Made it too easy.  The Wolf is radically deflexed but they made the pocket angle such that its same adjustment as many 25" riser
You should have a range of about 5# depending on how far you turn the bolts in and out and about 8# over marked like you said.  With shorts like youre talking about also keep in mind your draw force curve will peak quicker, for 27" you should be just fine Id try bolts bout midway.
52" Texas Recurve
58" Two Tracks Ogemaw
60" Toelke Chinook
62" Tall Tines Stickflinger
64" Big Jim Mountain Monarch
64" Poison Dart LB
66" Wes Wallace Royal
