They did another PSA last Friday and while the one at 6 mos in Aug hit 9.5 or so this one is in the high 20's...so it's still climbing...

Only god got this...

I do take 2 meds once each day and they THINK They'll kick it back... God's got this or not....NOT Doctors...

Doc? Whatta you know? Haven’t heard from you for awhile.

Don’t think “que sera, sera” is enough. God expects us to value His gift enough to fight for it.
Onward, and all that stuff!

I cannot call myself Christian, but this forum should include all. Through the years, you have done so much to give hope and strength to so many. Those lives made better are YOUR strength, and I hope you will use that now. How can you make things better if you go?

Be aggressive with your medicos, you should see results of your tests in a timely manner. They are hard to get from labs, but they send them to your primary care doctor. Do your best. That is what your Creator expects. When you are needed back Home, you’ll get there honestly.

But hang around here a little, eh?

Good words, killy

I've seen far too many invest everything chasing hope...

There are treatments I won't embrace (YET) that mean being dog sick--- cause I live alone where I have few friends. Once one retires and moves to another area, things "Change"...

I'm not having a grand ole time of it and walking with a can for the past 3 months unable to do most things I enjoy has dampened some of my verve...

Arty Ritis is kicking my butt, too many other things to mention, so when it's time, it's time... God chooses that time, not medicine nor mere mortals...I have 2 li'l pills I take daily that are to kill the "escaped" cancer cells...yea, we'll see.

Whatever will be, will be, and it's not up to me!

I fight what I can like doing daily stretching on the floor in hopes the left hip leg will get better, but with the big C, it's not in my hands...

Thank you so much for the kind words, Kathy!  I recall our fun times with great relish... :):)

Did apple pie survive the Tornado out his home area?   Pretty high death toll out there around Nashville... prayers for them all!

Good to see another Prayer Warrior here Killy lifting Doc up .
He is a tough old bird and I know he enjoys your company and friendship.
Doc as always I have you on my prayer list as you well know brother.
Spring is showing up and I'm praying it gives you a nudge to get out and walk your property and maybe plant that garden even If you can't have or don't want anything . I'm sure you might have a few members of your Church who can benefit from it but it might be good to just get out and get some fresh air . I know you have allergy's but seems things are blooming early around these parts. We already have some trees with full blooms already and the smell of Chicken manure in about every field ready to be tilled in.
I don't care for March due to those allergy's and dried manure particles drifting across the fields into my lungs but it's part of life here.
Anyway once all those winds die down and flowers start to bloom and bee's buzzing then things seem to come to life once more.
Maybe take a ride around some back roads and watch some wildlife .
Been meaning to ask you if you have been shooting your Bigfoot bow any?

The hip pain and low back issues have kept me from shooting bows--- period...

Allergies are a conundrum for us all who have them...spring and fall are my times but with all the wet we've had, I've been battling other type allergies...

I always appreciate being remembered in prayer or otherwise... :):)

You have mail Keith, that addresses some of your points in your post...

Doc;
Keep your chin up and guardian angel close at hand.  I'll be praying for you and for God's will.  I'll check back ever day or so to see how you are doing.  God's speed, my friend.

Thanks, Folks for the concern!

I've not posted new news of late cause it's "hurry up and wait" time... I see the Radiology oncologist early next month, then the Urologist middle of next month... been told they'll recheck the PSA after 6 mos on the "pills" and redo scans at 9 mos...so not much to report.

More concerned at this point with using a cane to get around and all the danged xrays showed was arthritis...yea, no surprise there...

I figure, albeit, in contest to Killdeer's thoughts, that it's not of my doing what transpires, but that God either has this or it's check out time... alas, my Executor reminds me to keep an open mind on some form of treatment as cancer can be a painful buggar at the end...

So, we will see what we will see... I don't want to clog the airwaves with drivel, so till I know something worthwhile, I'll say thanks for the thoughts and prayers to all, but I'm not giving up yet, just resolving to accept what is!

Riddled with arthritis, myself. In PT for shoulder stuff, but the shad are running and the birds are singing SPRING! ApplePie and family got through unscathed, but his friend’s house lost a roof. Better than a life, but not good anyway.

Stock market has robbed me of six years’ growth, but I am still here and kicking.
I still say do not go gently..  There is still work for you here.
But there is no arguing with you, you Tennessee mule!

TN mule?  Show me... oops, that is one state over in MO...:)

I won't go easy, but I guess it all boils down to the idea that I'm working my mind around the reality that whatever will be will be...

When it comes to a toss up tween God and Docs, i'll go with the former as Doc's just got a couple letters behind their names and hell I got a few myself, but they dont mean much...just a couple letters out a 26 letter alphabet, right?

Glad Apple made it ok...sorry for his friend, but material stuff can be replaced... you're so right...life cannot be so easily...

Cap'n, Glad to read you're back on the mend some....

And, thanks for the continued prayers! Much appreciated

As we get older the flu ain't nuttin to mess with, either... This new one will either run it's course or... be like the great flood and wipe Earth clean...Read once that the "meek shan't inherit the earth but a virus will"  I know what "meek" meant in the verse but It still has some merit...

I miss the days when "PSA" meant a Public Service Announcement.
Been getting mine checked every 6 months and, unlike the stock market, they go up...
Hang in there Doc, you'll be in my thoughts and prayers.

Paul, on Medicare I only got mine checked (PSA) ever year and by the time it hit 5.5 they sent me to a urologist but it took 30 days to get there (here) and by then it had gone from 5.5 to 7.2..so they did a biopsy and found it was an "8" on a Gleason Scale so it was an aggressive form...from what they tell me (??) that is a 10 point scale so it was pretty aggressive, but it took from late OCT to Mid January to get Radiation started...by then they NOW suggest some cells had escaped the prostate so the PSA kept going up after initially going down... now it's near 30 or was last check  and they think it's the "escaped ones" that are still driving the PSA...Nothing more till mid April for checks...

I take two li'l ole pills daily and that is to quell it all (yea, right)

Good luck and keep on top of it... i shared my #s just for your comparison...doesn't seem to be a lot of agreement among docs in varied parts of the country...

Thank you all!

Happy Easter to one and all!!!

The tiny pills I take are apparently to kill off my Testosterone which is reputed to feed this prostate cancer... they warned it can make a guy's nipples tender and it is!  I didn't know it was a Hormone killer...alas, Either God's Got this or I'm dead anyway, so I guess I'll keep taking them but other stuff is hurting so I'm just unsure what's what... Alas, Im not going to many docs will all this "stuff" going on!
