Arrrrr!!! these things never happen for me with witnesses!

O.K. ... These things never happen for me!!!  :banghead:

Great shooting Buff.  I'd frame that picture and put it where everybody could see.

Those shots will leave a lasting impression on alot of folks for a long time.
The first shot I witnessed from a longbow was a friend who shot an apple off the head of a 3-d dear from about 15 yards, his first try. That shot impressed me a heck of a lot more than the others who were shooting compounds. His rythym was so smooth and effortless, I knew I wanted to learn how to do that. Nearly fifteen years ago and it seems like yesterday.

That is great Buff.  The kids are our future.  Nice to see your doing your job to pass the torch!  The world has so much evil to offer that it's good to show them something to occupy idle time in a positive way.  That pic of the young scout shooting just made my day!
It's not the arrival, it's the journey.

We hosted the archery range for the boy scouts at Camp Pirtle this weekend. One of the big benefits to these shoots are that most of the kids and parents are city folks who have little or no exposure to hunting. As is often the case the Camp directors have reservation about the 3-D targets. As a compromise We set up 2 of the big field archery butts for ALL the kids that would not want to shoot an arrow and a poor defenseless animal. I don't believe any kids shot at the butts all day. The only arrows aimed at the field targets were from parent who just couldn't hit the 3-D's and shot the bigger targets to save face. We had around 150 kids and as many parents shoot. I don't know how many of the kids will follow up and become hunters but I'm sure we changed the opinions of most all of the adults as far as what they thought about hunters as a whole.

"After working with a group of a dozen or so kids and their parents"

First off Buff............OMG, that is just cool. Great shooting.

May I compliment you on the point here. Thank you for taking the time to act as an ambassador of our beloved sport/lifestyle. Kids are looking for the "real" item out there. You showed them what it means to be a real man. A man of your word, in word and deed. We all should follow your example in training the replacement crew of archers. Thank you.

Bet that shut him up!

Super nice shot. I'm still waiting on that one. I've knocked knocks off but I've yet to get to that level. I'll keep shooting though. Gotta have a goal!
