Made up a prototype for my OSS SO i can ise as a patten sander with a guide bushing to bump templates up against. I have not seen any sanders that have this so I made one.
Used a couple hole saws, cut out a 3-1/4” disc, then cut a 2-1/4” hole out of center of the disc. I used random sized hole saws I had on hand. End result is a bushing with a 3/8” offset.
Cut a piece if 1/4 ply to match table, and cut a 2-1/4” hole on center. Glued the bushing around the hole. I like jigs and templates for repeatable consistency so this should work great for riser work. I may make a more durable model out of that white plastic cutting board stuff if I can find it in 1/4” thickness. Thats my morning production, now to plow snow for a while.
