(I also sometimes just put in two pieces of 1/4 plywood cut to the shape of the box and make a bow sandwich, which seems pretty secure.)
I actually thought about it this time right as I was about to tape up the box. But you know, I never seem to see a professional bowyer ship in anything except cardboard, and I've never had any problems, and this box seemed pretty sturdy, and ...
... I guess I just got a little complacent. At least it doesn't seem like there was any harm to the contents based on his post, so I guess it's a cheap reminder not to take handling for granted.
