To preface this post, I'm just getting back into archery after some time off and all my gear having been deemed needed by someone else more than me, aka: stolen.
I have a very nice Great Northern 51# @27" but have a 29" draw, the bow does not have a shelf cut, so I tried a few different shafts and a 500 spine shot best. I now have a dozen arrows for this bow, but would like a little lighter draw bow for training or practice, but would like to use the same arrows. My thinking, a center shot riser of a lighter weight should be ok for shooting the 500 spine arrows I have. Looking for something that costs about a Benjamin, so likely a Sage Sammick, but should I go for 35# or 40#? Used bows are not out of the question, either so for a center shot riser what weight would you look for that would suit (most likely) the arrows i already have?
Cheers!
