I'm in with my deer combo tag!!   :archer:

I'll be hunting the whitetail rut on a friend's property in Central MT.

Now if I can just learn how to shoot straight....

After 2 lucky years in a row, I failed to draw in Montana but I should draw in CO for elk and I'm taking my son to WY for antelope and deer, so it will be another fun fall.

Feels strange not checking the results.First time and 11 years we haven't put in. The NR's where for all intents and purposes booted out of the area we hunted so back to CO this year. Doc,Ted and Tom have a  good place in ID.

Deer combo in the Billings area. Going to hunt a farm along the river and do a little bird hunting too.

No elk /deer combo tag for me with one preference point. Those folks in the Montana Game Dept. must not like me!!!
To me, the ultimate challenge in bowhunting is not how far away you can succesfully make a killing shot but rather how close you can get to the animal before shooting.

Got the combo elk-deer license.  That means I'll get to follow those bulls over the ridge when they make a break for it out of Idaho.  It's a common happening.

And Biggie, try wearing boxers next time you go.
So don't wait until you retire to go hunting and fishing.  Don't even wait for your annual vacation.  Go at every opportunity.  Things that appear urgent at the moment may, in the long run, turn out to be far less so.

We failed to draw for the second year in a row. I was very suprised I thought we would draw for sure this year. It seems to be every other year but I wonder how many more nr's applied with the online drawing allowing you to apply as a party with a credit card.

Hey, Biggie!  I read some old stickbow mags last night and I see where you used to contribute a story or two on occassion.  Write us up something about your Montana hunt as well.  You need to come down and shoot with us again too.

Gregg, I still scratch out a story every now and then but end up giving them to PBS Magazine. Less circulation I guess but I don't write for the notoriety of it  :-)
As far as shooting goes, seems like your last shoot was the same weekend as the turkey opener!

I guess if we run into the bear that is making these tracks, we oughta just get off the trail.......He seems to like it!
