It doesn't matter a bit who you ship it with, USPS, UPS, Fed-ex, the container and packing have to be bullet-proof.  I've had damage from all the major shippers.  Insurance is a must.

Thin wall PVC about $6 for 10 foot stick. Light and flexible/durable. (Home Depot or Lowes).
If you are not living on the edge you are taking up to much space!

Kodiak Man, I agree, you can go to the local well supply house and get 20' length of lighter PVC at pretty reasonable price. They might even cut it into 3 6 ft. sections. The remaining 2' I stand up next to my table and use to seperate shafts that need to be fletched or worked on.

I used to ship in Schedule 40 PVC tubes and now use the heavy shipping tubes made of cardboard.  We have had bows broken in both.  We ship a few hundred bows and blanks every year and have 5-6 broken by USPS.  Insure all packages, the claim process works well and they do pay the claims, unlike UPS.

Yes, USPS does pay the claim promptly. UPS is big run-around.
