Hi there, I want to try putting a pigskin leather grip on a Toelke whip with a thumb rest. I've done beavertail grips before but I'm not sure if pigskin can also be soaked. I usually soak beavertail in warm water before installing but I'm not sure if the pigskin can be treated the same way. I form the beavertail to the grip, then remove, trim and punch holes, put it back on with barge/contact cement and lace it. I'm hoping I can do the same with "normal" leather but would like suggestions from someone with more experience.
What would you do? Thanks! Pat
