With the kids at home due to the craziness going on, I have taken the liberty of changing the kids curriculum... regular archery sessions in the back yard, fishing, hunting, and game processing.
Some things that happened in the last two days of class:
Oldest brought home 17 fish from our little venture to the grocery store a.k.a. the creek. Filleting fish was taught after. The bait used (worms) was also harvested from the environment.
During archery session I discovered jack was trying to get in touch with his primitive roots... he earned the nick name primitive archer.
How to pitch a tent (which became a club house for the day).
Last lesson of the day was game cooking. All fish were consumed with baked veggies in a cast iron skillet.
Class was dismissed and the tired students went to bed satisfied and tired from a days work. The lessons of nature are valuable and good for the soul.
