Robertson Stykbow news
« on: May 03, 2020, 09:31:53 AM »
Anyone else catch Yana's teaser post on IG yesterday about a new Robertson model the "Howler" in the works.

Reportedly a recurve "that can be easily switched to a hybrid longbow"

Bow has been confirmed on the Robertson Stybow FB Page and mentions the launch of a new website.

Thought there was a lot more Robertson fans on here  :dunno:

I didn’t see it, interesting but I’m not so much a one size/type does it all guy. I’m more of a specialist. A longbow riser should be a longbow riser and vice versa imo

I have never owned a Robertson and I'm sure they are fine bows with a loyal following.  My problem with their TDs is the way the limbs mount--no attempt to have them blend smoothly into the riser profile.
The years accumulate on old friendships like tree rings, during which time a kind of unspoken care and loyalty accrue between men.

Best of the best; I bought my 1st in 89' and have five.  Trying to talk Dick into shaving a few pounds off the 68#ers.  May have to make a visit to encourage him.

It kinda follows along the same idea South Cox' was thinking with the Coyote or Jackal models, where you have some flexability shooting either recurve or longbow out of one riser.

The below screen shot of the Howlers release is from earlier today on Robertsons FB Page. My initial thought when I saw it was, its' profile looks like my 1pc 60" Peregrine Falcon Recurve that Dick used to make from the late 80's into mid 90's range.

Good to see Dick still innovating after 40yrs of building Styks

You can watch the whole release here if interested -
