Well, the River Runner arrived a few days ago and it is prettier in person. I do have a question about a static recurve verses a standard recurve. Is the static recurve more sensitive to your release for accuracy?  I love the way this one shoots and if I do my job she hits exactly where I am looking but I don’t seem to have the percentage of good groups than with my Toelke Chinook. Just curious.

Yeah. I just got my chinook and group better with it than anything.

After trying a number of 50s style recurved a few years back I settled on a fox breed. Other brands were okay but once I got that breed in my hand it finally clicked for me! This was a few years ago and I haven’t gotten to try a toelke or big Jim’s or a few others that I’d like to get my hands on, strictly for comparison of course. My breed is 58” and I’d love to try the 62” some day!

Received my Mountain Monarch from Big Jim yesterday! Wow! is all i can say. I have owned some of the best bows out there over the years. Including Black Widows, Silvertips, NorthernMist and others. Big Jims bows take a back seat to no bow out there. Fit and finish attention to detail you name it. Big Jims bows rock! TD. :bigsmyl:

Great Plains bows has the long curve which I've always admired.  Have to get one of their bows one day!

Yew Thunderstick 3 is my favorite,,,, 63" with the original ghost limbs man its so sweet!   lots of nice recurves mentioned  here though I'd get one based on wait time and how soon you want it..

I have always been a Fred Bear guy, so I would pick a 1957/58 or 1959 Kodiak. Here is a picture of my 1957 and 1959 Kodiak’s that I refinished.
