RANGER'S APPRENTICE book series
« on: April 16, 2008, 09:51:00 PM »
Has anyone read the Rangers Apprentice book series by John Flannagan? I've read the first one and am currently reading the second one in the seven book series. They've got lots of longbows, recurves, and boar hunting. So far I've really enjoyed them. Any feedback?

I have the 1st three in my classroom and I know the kids in my class love them...I only started the first one but didn't get to finish it.

Here is the site with more info:

I just finished "The Archer's Tale" by Bertrand Russel which was great.

skyler,   i've read the first one and plan on reading the second one soon, probably w/ my son.

i know you should never judge a book by the cover but i was drawn to the cool guy w/ the bow and arrows over his shoulder. turned out to be a good read. enjoy the rest of 'em.. i'm sure i will

Savate,
The Archers Tale is by Bernard Cornwell . 'Vagabond' and 'Heretic' are the next two books in that series and are about a longbowman in the middle ages. More about war than hunting but still very enjoyable reads.

You might enjoy those also Skyler....

mountaindog,
finished Scarlett, a couple of weeks ago. rather good!
reading fantasy novels always quenches my thirst for adventure when bound in the city away from the woods. and there's nearly always forest, a good knife and a  longbow to be found in them somewhere.....
