Anybody had widow custom make a handle?
« on: July 05, 2020, 02:08:00 PM »
So, Im in love with the stalker coyote I recently bought but Im a widow guy through and through.  I shoot them twice as well as anything else and four times better than most.  Best customer service ever and completely indestructible bows.  I see on their website that they will custom make any handle you want.  Im considering building my dream bow which would be a PA or a takedown with a stalker grip.  Thoughts?

I'm sure the widow guys will do as good a job as anyone could possibly do, but of course once they send you your custom handle, it's yours from then on, whether it turns out the way you wanted or not.  I would certainly send them the Stalker handle that you have to use as a model, as that would increase the chance that you will get exactly what you want.

2nd McDave. I would think if you shoot a BW so much better it might have to do with how it HANDLES.

Talk it over with Roger or Toby. Any questions you have, they will answer.

The guys at Black Widow recently started exploring with a few new "factory" grips that I dont think they advertise in their catalog.  They have a couple that are a little lower and have a flatter back like you see on some of the ILF rigs.   I think they call one the "Aaron Snyder" grip which is the one I like.  You should call and ask Roger what's available these days. I just had a new riser built with one of the new grips and love it.

The reason I've shot hundreds of bows but only own Sarrells bows is because they fit my hand like a glove and I am a better archer with his bows.  Honestly they aren't anything magical compared to a lot of other quality bows, but my experience has taught me that I do best with one of his.

I think I shoot them better bc of the stability, high brace height, and high mass weight.  I shoot with a handy clicker as my psychotrigger and the stalker handle fits that the best.

Sean I have several Widows with a custom grip.  Go for it you won't regret it.  I had a high wrist grip built on my first Widow.  All following custom builds have been a copy of that first grip.  Those are the only bows I hunt with.  Makes going form one bow to the other very familiar  and comfortable.  Talk to the guys and send em the grip you want copied.  Nothing to worry about.......good luck.

I could shoot a broomstick well if it had a Brackenbury grip.

I am sure they can do it.

It seems I remember a number of years ago a guy who I think was from GA or AR that had them build a PL with an MA type grip.  It was a 1 piece bow.  I dont see any problem at all if it's a larger riser....

As said above, call em and talk to Roger or Toby.....
