Wengerd Archery

I had not heard of Wengerd bows, looking at their homepage I must say the bows look great. Any thoughts on these bows?

I’ve spent some time talking with Trent Wengerd at ETAR, both at his booth and around the campfire. I’ve shot several of his bows and they are most excellent; both fit/finish/attention to detail and performance. A lot of folks I know have been switching to his bows and his wait list seems to be getting longer.

 Made me look. Beautiful looking bows. Lots of artistic flair and custom details. Two year wait? A person could acquire the skills needed to make a similar bow in two years and the $1300-1500 would certainly cover the material costs of learning. This is the bowyers bench after all

Trent buys his core lams from me, he is a great guy!

I like his G10 flares. Do you guys happen to know where he gets the blocks of G10 that thick? Or maybe he glues several pieces up? 

I've also wondered if he is using a CNC setup. Nice looking bows for sure.

I can't speak from a bowyers point of view on Trent's bows but I do own one. I met Trent at ETAR last year for the first time after talking to him several times over the phone. He happened to have with him the exact bow we had talked about. He let me shoot it a couple of times and needless to say I couldn't leave ETAR without it. I did feel a little bad because he said he built it as his personal bow for the upcoming year. I shot Every bow I could get my hands on there and his IBEX was by far the smoothest, fastest, and deadest in the hand bow I've ever shot. For those on his 2 year waiting list their in for a treat when the wait is over.

I do agree with Flem, with some effort and 2 years of practice you could probably build something that would look the same. But Trent has figured something out with the feel and performance that I haven't found in any other bow.
