Deep in the heart of the interior of Alaska, a man is judged by the size of his cabin,,,,,, if he builds a large modern house,,,,, heads shake as it looks so cold and hard to heat. But show us a small cabin with a fat bellied wood stove that will hold heat all night, and receive warm comfortable smiles,,,,,, the smaller the cabin and the fatter the stove, the better.

Ron, awesome place, if you ever need some yayhoo to come up and keep the cast iron cleaned, or even keep it hot and greasy, put me on the list,,,,,,,,,, Beautiful place and nice fish too,,,,,,,,,

Bryan, it's not going to take much to heat the cabin and there's plenty of down timber in the woods.

I remember as a kid visiting an old man that my dad knew. He lived in a small cabin and heated it with a cast iron wood stove. The top of the stove had two lids like a cook stove so you could cook on it. I found that same stove on line and ordered it. It was delivered a few days ago. Another bit of nostalgia for the cabin.

That's a neat little get away!

My grandpa built a cabin down in his woods, and had a little stove that looked identical.

Sweet little set up you have Ron, hope all is well with you.  Will be looking forward to some fishing stories about the one that got away, and hopefully some you caught. As well as a few hunting stories from your new home away from home.  I'm sure once that new stove is fired up and is casting a warm glow with a chill in the air and a small glass of bourban in hand you'll have plenty of stories to tell.  Some of my best memories are from sitting back and listening to my Dad, and Grandpa in deer camp, hope you have many years to make memories at your new one.
