How about a Texas Recurve that was a really nice short bow and my buddy was deadly with it.  Also Jack Howards Gamemaster Jet recurves were great bows and he was way ahead of his time!

Thanks,

Roger

Harrison, Matlock, Elburg, Robertson longbows, the lil KT44's, Strunk selfbows,  agree about texas recurves especially in the 50# range very HTF,  Green Mtn,  Grey wolf , Yellowstone, Genesis osage snakey & ELB's ,  original pittsley's (not niche) , Alaska Archery ( includes Watkins)  and many many more,,,  thing is most people that I know of who have these rare bows don't bother much with the internet let alone shipping and dealing with people they don't know, you need to go to them and bring cash....

someone asked about lightweight hummingbird recurves,, I know of a guy that has 3 along with 2 longbows but he has never went on any archery forum that I know of and doesn't need money so he doesn't sell anything.

Believe that Linda Graham may be bringing back the Hummingbird line with a new bowyer-can only hope at this point.
The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.

A post by Linda copied from another forum:

We are in the process of deciding which ones to start with and then making some up for test runs will be late this year or early next year.Definitely TD.Recurve since already have orders waiting. Not sure how I will do website.

Linda and Ben Graham made some great bows. I wish that I had one of the ones that I once had. Some of them were very close to perfection. Good luck Linda. You have our support.

I kinda feel a different bowyer making any bows really isn't the same thing,,  BUT I think I'd order one anyway.      since 1986 Ive been experiencing that voice in my head that says over and over "you should of bought one and not waited"     many times I waited and then the bow line or even bowyer was gone....  people now who read this if you really really feel its the one for you then get your order in,,, if you don't want to buy and wait then find people who have them and give them your address and phone # and beg them to at least contact you when they are thinking about selling or trading...... twice in my life so far I've gotten calls from the past at first I'm like        " what bow you talking bout"  but I got two rare bows that way that I knew I wanted.

bow brands to ad to the above list,,,,  Marriah's, (anyone have my Chinook 64' 60@28 named "the springer")   Jay st Charles yew longbows (anyone have my 66" yew T/D named "Ginger")  Kentuckian longbows,  firesticks by torges, wildwood archery, Stillwater,  Ron Maulding longbows......... I have a Trad archery brochure collection I started in the 80's when you had to mail a dollar, I should go thru I bet theres a bunch more I can't remember.

You can get lucky though! My go to bow is a TD blacktail I got off craigslist with a selway quiver for $350.

I have only ever seen a Choctaw Recurve advertised for sale once. Come to think of it, it may not have been a sale but a fundraiser or auction. but only once in more than 20 years of traditional archery obsession.

Harold Groves's Mags. In good shape. See them once in a while up for sale but normally been monkeyed with, drilled holes and such. OL Adcock , oh those are sure shooters!! I  have a few, I would not part with them either.  I have a one piece Big Horn I finally found in a good weight for me. I am letting a friend use it this season. Sure is making me nervous him running around in the woods with it. Bill Matlock Longbows. I wonder how he is doing? Awesome bowyer, din't make many then had a stroke.  He baked/cured mine in a car when he lived in the desert down south when it was made! Most of you know I am a sucker for Jack Howards. Always looking for lower weights in good shape. Jack sure did make a bunch in the upper weights.

I sure don't see a lot of Don Adams English Yew longbows for sale. He made them for many years and a lot of them made their way to England.
