Tom Hackbardt of West MI. RIP...
« on: August 09, 2020, 09:49:08 AM »
About a week ago, the traditional archery community lost a wonderful guy, Tom Hackbardt. At his memorial, 90% of the pictures were with family hunting and fishing, and of course traditional archery. He was my league shooting partner, and we hunted turkey, deer, elk, fish, etc... he always had an uplifting presence at events and donated generously.

Tom ran Traditional Archery Supply in W Michigan, and then joined forces with Ryan Wheeler of Black Dog Outfitters. He helped countless traditional archers. Unfortunately they closed up shop after a few years, but Tom always supported the traditional archery community.

He was a week away from retirement, 5 days prior to his 62nd birthday...

He will be missed by his family and fellow archers.

I was shocked last week when a coworker of his told me the news.
He was definitely an unsung hero in the traditional archery community.
He will be sorely missed.

It is always hard to learn of the passing of a good person, especially one of " our" trad guys. Prayers and condolences are offered for his family.

Too darn young.  Condolences on the loss of your friend.
I can afford to shoot most any bow I like.  And I like Primal Tech bows.

Way too young, seems so unfair to us, His plan isn't always ours.  God bless to his family.

I’m very sad to hear this, Tom was fantastic and one of the guys that got me into traditional archery 10+ years ago up in his sand lake shop. Best guy ever so helpful and encouraging, prayers for family he will be missed 🙁
