Hello everyone new member Rick here. I shot a lot of Trad Archery as a kid was fairly decent at it won a few turkey shoots and such. I'm originally from West Virginia but spent most of my 63 years in So Cal. The wife and I are planning our escape. Picked up a rifle and started big game and predator hunting in my late teens. Hunted deer and elk and called in predators all throughout the Western United States all with a rifle. So Cal has a long history of predator calling clubs and I was a member of the old California Varmint Callers Association. The club has been around since the 1950's and was a dozen chapters strong at one point I was a member from 1979 until the club was dissolved in 1996. The club is still around just smaller groups under other names. Lot of old friends some of us have known each other for 40 years. Decide to pick up a Bear Kodiak 59 reissue, arrows and gear just to do a little target practice in the back yard. I forgot just how much I love slinging arrows, but I have a lot to learn and relearn and should have never stopped practicing Archery. My big game hunting days are over old, fat, and arthritic. I still chase predators but my days climbing the tall hills are done. If I can get good again I'll try and kill a few coyotes with a Trad Bow. Should be somewhat of a challenge I reckon. Thanks for reading, regards.
