Conditioning a tab?

Do you guys put anything on your tabs to keep them slick? I've got a safari tuff tab that I've had for probably 4 or 5 years and it just doesn't feel as slick as it used to almost like its soaked up oil off my hand and is now kinda tacky. Any suggestions?  Thanks!

Rick Barbee uses coconut oil on his nylon tabs.

My son’s Barbee tab We use coconut oil as it’s ballistic nylon.

My go to tabs are Safari Tuff also.  Sweat, blood, string wax, old dog (and puppy) fur, feathers and old scotch and just some of the things my hunting tab has been “conditioned “ with since August alone and it’s an old tab.  In all seriousness I’ve never intentionally put anything on a cordovan tab.

If your tab is feeling a little "tacky" you may try some saddle soap on it.

Just get a new one.   That is less than 10 bucks a year.  Rod needs to eat too. 

But seriously, it will cost you a quarter of a new tab just to buy something to put on it.

Agree get  another tab or two from Rod. I have three of them and have always liked the quality of them.

I just ruined a glove with mink oil so don't use that. I was conditioning my boots and figured while I had it out... It softened the leather a little too much.

Just get a new one.   That is less than 10 bucks a year.  Rod needs to eat too.

Probably sometime you’re going to need your tab and it’s not going to be there. DAMHIK. Do yourself a favor and get a new one and start using it, and fasten your old one on your quiver or something that you’ll always have with you when you shoot your bow. In other words, don’t depend on remembering to put your spare in your pocket. At least unless you are better at remembering to do things than I am.
