A few new knives
« on: September 08, 2020, 02:44:29 PM »
Well I'm going to blame this on Ron and all the blades he and others have been posting.
Someone on here mentioned Texas Knives as a good supplier of blanks.
So I bought a big one to start. 12" overall and added some ironwood scales to it. Them I got a medium skinner and cocobolo for it's handles. Couldn't stop...ordered a smaller 3" skinner and it too has a very nice cocobolo handle.
2bears made me a lefty sheath for the beast. Hmmm, ordered a piece of leather and went for it and made a couple myself. Not great but functional. Now I'm done for a while.

Fine looking set of knives-love both the ironwood and coco scales-good job on them.
The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.

Thanks.everyone.
And ye, they come from Texas Knife shaving sharp. Wrapped the blades with tape while working on the handles so I wouldn't cut myself.
