Calling all .500 spine arrow users

Hey fellas, been quite a while since i've been here. I hope you are all doing well.  If you would, please take the time to answer a few questions about using .500 spine arrows.

1) What pound bow?
2) draw length?
3) Arrow length?
4) tip weight(insert and point)?

I shoot Easton Axis 500s through 45-50# ASLs, hybrids and Bear TDs.  28-inch draw, cut to 29 inches BOP, usually with 250 grains up front -- 100 grain brass insert and 150 grain point/adaptor.

All of my past center cut bows shoot fabulous with 500's  I shoot between 53 and 56 on most of my bows. 27" draw, 28" arrow, 200 grain tip.

I leave most of mine full length or cut a little off,it seems to make them much easier to tune. I draw 28 inches,and shoot mostly 50 to mid 50's. I had some work out of a 46 pound bow that I couldn't make anything else work,went heavy on the head end with that one. .500 spine is very verstile.

This is with a Javaman Impala Express and a Impala Supreme.  For my hunting bow, I shoot 50lbs and use .400's with 350gn upfront.  All arrows are Day Six carbons.

I've been a 500 spine user ever since they started making carbons of that spine.....

1. My various bows that use 500s range from 40-52lb and are of all types.  Modern longbows, ILF recurves, more traditional longbows, and vintage recurves.
2. My draw length is 27.25"
3. I usually cut the arrows about 28.5" to 29" and they typically have 3x3" or 4x2" fletch.
4. I vary the tip weight depending on the bow.  For my bows in the 50 range, I shoot 125 tips and for the bows in the mid 40s, I shoot 150, for the bows in the low 40s, I shoot 175 tips.  That seems to keep the spine consistent for me.

I find .500 spine arrows appropriate for all the bows I would hunt with, from 45-51#, with arrows cut to 29”, and point weight varying from 150-200 grains, depending on what tunes best.  I normally use .500 ultralights, so I can keep the point weight up and the overall weight down.  When I used to hunt with heavier bows, I found that 54-56# was the crossover point to .400 spine, depending on the point weight I wanted to use.

For lighter weight bows I use for 3D, I use .600 spine ultralight shafts with 75-100 grain points, to keep overall weight down, as point weight is not a consideration.

I use various configurations of 500 (35-55) spine shafts for my 45#-55# bows. I usually cut to 29” depending on the point weight and insert weight combo I want. The lower weight bows require this spine because they are on ILF risers using carbon backed limbs.
  I was gifted some Beemans, 500 spine but cut @28”. I intend to use 100 grain inserts, either 145 or 175 grain points and see if they will work from my 50# recurve.
  I wouldn’t say 500 spine is universal but for most of us it can be made to work.

I thought for sure this arrow would be to weak out of that bow but they bareshaft like darts
I shoot the same arrow out of my 62 pound Abbott longbow and again they bareshaft beautifully

These are for sure my favorite ones. I think they are 9/32 instead of 5/16. They are the easiest arrow I've ever tried tuning.

Gold tip Velocity 500 - 29.5" - 225 to 260 grains up front -- nice arrow in a good weight for my 43# to 50# bows.

When I want a heavier arrow, like for big hogs, I substitute a 3-Rivers Traditional-Only 500 shaft.

Pretty well covered for anything I would hunt.

53@28 BW PSA, 26.75" DL, 28.5" Warrior carbon arrows with 150 point and standard 11ish grain insert.  Flew well and penetrated well but was before my form was good enough to "bareshaft tune" so I have no clue how perfect it was of a set up.

47@28 Timberhawk Oddyssey longbow, 29 inch draw length, 29.5 inch arrows, 50 grain brass insert, 175 grain head. The arrows fly great out of this particular longbow and my Timberhawk Talon recurve which is 45@28.
