My wife was an outdoor woman, she loved the outdoors and hunting with her longbow or traditional muzzleloader.
Some years ago her and I spent a week together at ShrewHaven in the U P in the late muzzleloading season. She loved the rustic atmosphere of the cabin's gas lights and wood heat. Even though it got really cold some of the days she suggested we spend the rest of the winter there. I said, but honey the snow gets really deep and we'd be stranded. She said, that's ok we've got two deer hanging and we could chop through the ice in the creek for water.......how could you help loving a woman like that.
I have her ashes in the little "RedBird's Nest" cabin. Some may think it strange but it gives me comfort feeling she's there with me.
