Warm up shots
« on: October 03, 2020, 09:36:22 AM »
Today starts the archery deer season here in Texas.  After working yesterday morning against my will I headed to our 230 acre ranch near Abilene mid afternoon.   After arriving my partner and I decided to do an evening sit for pig as we seem to have a very healthy population around.
Sure enough right before dark four young boars came in and I took a shot at the closest one.  My bottom limb barely clipped the foam padding on the blind floor and through my shot off but the pig only went about 10 yards and died within sight.
The other three initially spooked and with the lighted nock shining I figured the game was up but two of the others walked around their buddy and came back in.  I shot the second one at 10 yards and he made it about 25 yards with a solid double lung shot.
Of course this morning only young bucks and doe with fawn show up (different stand) but still a good warm up shooting session to start the weekend with.
I can afford to shoot most any bow I like.  And I like Primal Tech bows.

Usually if I took two warmup shots, I’d be too blurry to hit anything.
