Help with refinish
« on: October 05, 2020, 04:14:55 PM »
Hi there!

I am about to start a complete restoration of a Howatt Palomar which needs a fresh start in life.  What I have available as a finishing product is Rustoleum Ultra Cover 2X and Rustoleum Polyurethane. The first is for in and outdoor use but the second is only recommended for indoor use. I am tending towards the first one although I'd like to know from you experts.

I have access to almost all Rustoleum's line of products but not much else since I don't live in America and can't get stuff like Minwax spar urethane or VHT products. I might be able to find similar products under other brand names though, so if you can recommend something different please do and I'll see what would be its equivalent.

I would like to buy some sort of spray-on product since I don't own a spray gun or compressor but if you think something else would work, apart from sprays, I'm all ears.

Thanks!  Patrick.

(I posted this on The Bowyers Bench as well, since I didn't know which was the right place to do so, please remove if not OK)
