Not your imagination at all.
It's a little known fact that a wood fire perked coffee is more stable at the molecular level.....  :knothead: :biglaugh:
Well anyway, you cant beat it.  :coffee:

Alaska became a state in 1959 and Nancy (RedBird) and I planned on joining the Michigan 59'ers and go to Alaska to homestead the 160 acers the Government was giving free to those brave souls that could prove it up.
Our plans changed when our first child decided to join the family. I didn't want my pregnant wife to go through the hardship of homesteading in the wilderness so Alaska remained a dream.

I had a picture similar to this in my workplace over 40 + years ago, written under it was "Ron and Nancy's Retirement home"

There's times when I'm sitting in RedBird's Nest in the evening with the kerosene lamps reflecting their soft golden glow on the pine logs, I can imagine I'm living my dream somewhere in the Alaskan wilds. My dear wife didn't get to see it in the making but I feel her presence there.

It won't be long before winter will send it's blanket of white on RedBird's Nest

We live in the present, we dream of the future, but we learn eternal truths from the past
When you were born, you cried and the world rejoiced. Live your life so that when you die, the world cries and you rejoice.
Life is like a wet sponge, you gotta squeeze it until you get every drop it has to offer

Nothing wrong with memories that never came to pass.
Tis better than no dreams at all.....

Nothing more satisfying than a warm wood stove to warm up to, with a fresh blanket of snow on the ground, after a cold sit in the blind.  The smell of the wood smoke as you walk to the cabin, knowing it's waiting for you, to warm you up....

Too many bows to list, and so many more I want to try!  Keep the wind in your face, and your broadheads sharp.
