Pig 6 for October
« on: October 25, 2020, 08:43:42 AM »
This guy came through after I had gathered my gear to leave but the deer wouldn't.  So he did me a favor and ran them off.  Unfortunately for him I repaid the favor with a sharp broadhead.
Amazing how hard it is to pick a spot on a black pig in the semi dark.
I can afford to shoot most any bow I like.  And I like Primal Tech bows.

Well done and good arrow placement.
The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.

It was really dark by the time I found him.  This oak shinery and sand can make tracking tough.  The lighted knock was glowing good but laying in the sand where he fell on the arrow.  I knew he was right there, I could smell him.  But he made a turn I didn't see at first.

Nice shot Gary. Never had the opportunity to shoot a hog. Always surprised how tough these guys are and the limited penetration we often see.
