Never could make up my mind, whether they work or don't...
Kinda like,  :dunno: Guess it couldn't hurt? If I have a bottle, I might use it, no matter how old.

More often than not, I don't use them, because I have no real confidence in them. However, I do play around with them sometimes. If I have some left over from the previous year, I will use it.

Only deer scent I use is Evercalm.  Back when I was young I tried different "lures" but rarely got any "reponse".
But I've had deer walk up to my tripod and sniff the Evercalm I smeared on the leg and then go back to eating acorns down wind.
I have confidence in it and I think like most things that is key.
I can afford to shoot most any bow I like.  And I like Primal Tech bows.

I only use a little 'Hot Doe' scent when I'm trying to be the first hot doe in the area when the bucks are in the mood and the does still are not ready.  I use the bottle up in a few hunts.  I guess it wouldn't hunt to use old scent as even real deer smells get old with time.   :dunno:

I have had very good luck with Mrs. Doe pee have had multiple bucks track it past my location.  Has been the only scent i have had any deer react to.  They claim you can freeze it and use it the following season.  I have had best results using it right away but it has worked the following season.

I usually bought it in a smaller bottle keep it refrigerated and didnt have much if any left for the next season.  If i did i would freeze and use that early in the season.  Once the bucks antlers are hard and velvet shed they are ready.  I also do my drags in reverse. Once i started doing that i saw more success.

Deer pee everywheres I don't think putting out more of it is going to make any difference to the deer if so bucks would be running around checking out every spot , doesnt happen . Last fall I put James Valley scent out there was snow on the ground and the rut was on not one track in the snow came over to it and I watched bucks walk right down wind of it from about 20 feet and they didn't even look in that direction . The only lures I have had work were glandular types .  I once took the full bladder out of a doe that we had just seen breeding with a buck latter pouring the urine from it around my stand ,the deer didn't pay any attention to it  !

Everything around here is synthetic now with CWD in our state, they have outlawed actual live deer scents so who knows what is in those ? Or even if they go bad
( were they ever good ?) with time
