Ultralight tent recommendations?

Guys looking for a packable tent . Key feature is it needs a floor. I love the saw tooth tent designs but problem is down here we have 4 species of venomous no shoulders that I would not appreciate crawling in my sleeping bag with me
Needs to house 2-3 people

I recently went to a hammock.  No snakes in bed with you here. It might get a little tight with 2 other people on top of you though.

You may have to try a back pack store . Personally if a tent didn’t have a floor I wouldn’t consider it. Ya I know guys swear by the old cabin tents and teepees but no floor, no buy. Hopefully your 2-3 people are small and like each other a lot.

High end single wall ultralight tents with sewn in floor and adequate weather protection can weigh less than 2 lbs, but cost in the range of $600.  Double wall tents of similar quality are about twice the weight, but cost less than half as much.  Is it worth $300 to you to carry an extra 2#?

These stats are for 2 people.  To get one big enough for 3 people costs a bit more, of course, but the same trade off applies.

  I have been using a Lunar Solo  by Six Moon Designs.

Less than 2 pounds with the stakes, and very roomy...and has a floor.
Very happy with it for backpack hunting.

My wife and I have slept in it, but no room for any gear with two people in it.

I went with a Luxe gear tipi and half nest.  Economical and does what is needed.

No help with tents.  Hammock or cowboy with a rain fly on bad nights.

i am right in the middle of a build. making whats referred to as a "hot tent"
 basically a tent for a hammock, except it has a fold up stove, and will sleep two hammocks, one above the other.
building the light weight stove and stove pipe too!

If you require a tent for 2-3 people you need a minimum of a 4 person tent, a 3 person tent for 2 people, etc. I would purchase a 1P tent for solo camping and when 3 persons are involved and a 3P tent for two persons and a solo tent for backpacking. Look for tents with a fly goes close to ground. For truck camping double the size. Marmot, Big Agnus, REI, Eurika, etc. make excellent tents for backpacking.

I've had a 2 man Eureka  4 season tent for about 10 years and it's a great well made tent. I've camped in it in heavy rains, winds and cold temps a bunch and it's never let me down. I will definitely agree with above comments as far as getting double the size tent per guy ie, a 2 man tent is comfy for one person and a 4 man tent is comfy for 2 people (with gear). Check back packing sites and read reviews, there are a lot of great options out there but be prepared to pay for quality. Mountain Hardwear makes some outstanding tents and gear as well. I use a hammock, so cant help you with that. I currently use a kammock mantis with an top quilt and an under quilt. Warm and cozy with so much storage you'd think it's a tent. My whole system including all insulation is 4-5 lbs. That's hammock, essentially 2 sleeping bags, rain fly, bug net, storage hammock, gear loft, ridge line organizer for thst weight. I wont ever go back to a plain tent. But they do also sell a tent 2 person that turns into a hammock called the kammock sundra. Maybe that would be a good fit.

I wouldn't have a tent without a floor . I don't like spiders and snake bites or skunk invasions, mice or other vermin .
   Once in Texas my son had an armadillo dig a big hole under his tent he got out of bed and almost broke his neck . I had the same one dig a hole under the carpet in front of the door of my tent I came out and fell on my nose .

Curious as to why you want a floor.  I hate tents with floors. I recommend a sil nylon tipi.  I have a seek outside redcliffe. Sleeps 4, 8# with both liners and stove. Wood stove will save your life when the wx changes from 80 to blizzard.

I've been very happy with tarptent (I have the moment).
I also have a seek outside "hot tent". I have the cimarron. It's super versatile. You can get the floorless shelter and pair it with a nest, which I have for family camping. In cold weather I run just the tent with my stove. Honestly though if what you want is a simple tent that's light I wouldn't go crazy. Going to a versatile "system" like seek outside is expensive. You would do well to pick up a nice tent from tarptent, big agnes, MSR, or even any of the other brands like marmot or black diamond. An REI visit is helpful.
