Torture test....
« on: November 22, 2020, 12:09:52 AM »
Built this bow for my cousin last fall. He practiced his butt off all year and felt confident enough to hunt this year.  after me showing him some spots to key in on he ventured out on his own.
Well... yesterday he accidentally left his bow leaning against his vehicle and drove off. He didn’t realize it till today when he went to get his bow to practice and it wasn’t there! Several hours later and a drive to the wma he never found it. He then decided to call the wma headquarters and the local GW. Fortunately the GW had found it in the parking lot this morning when making his rounds.
He had apparently ran over it when he backed out and pulled away.
Not so pretty any more but still shooting good. (He put a couple dozen arrows through it before he called me) I advised him not to shoot it any more until I can check it out myself.
An elitist mentality creates discord, even among the elite!
"I went jackalope hunting but all I saw was does!"
Luck is when preparedness meets opportunity, I just need more opportunities!

I know a guy who laid his bow on the hood while putting stuff in the truck , then on blacktop, meeting two cars, something blew up over the cab and a car ran over it mostly lengthwise.  Some superglue , sanding and finish and it shoots again, but not very purty...

It happens!!  :biglaugh:

Oh, yeah, it wasn't me , surprisingly!!
Stay sharp, Kenny.

I can afford to shoot most any bow I like.  And I like Primal Tech bows.

Wow that reminds me of my good buddy Named (Bruce) who received a brand new Martin longbow and he also laid his on the hood and forgot about it .When he heard something slide off His roof he realized what he did but to late it got a bad case of “Road Rash” and he asked me if I could fix it and I laughed.
I looked it over and did the best I could and really did pretty good and I asked him if I could write a little something on it and he said please do.
I wrote “Road Kill” on it and he absolutely loved what I named that bow .

Sad part is mine fell off a cart the other day.  I didn't run it over though.

Try running over a compound or X-gun and see if you can keep shooting it. :)

I dropped my custom recurve at the top of a set of concrete cellar steps. It bounced and slid all the way to the bottom. When I got done crying I checked it out. Scratched and dinged but nothing too bad.

The last guy that I new to do that ran over the bow first time out hunting with it, totaled.  He didn't mind the money but the 15 month wait was gonna kill him.  Glad your cousin can still shoot it.

All of my toys go into the vehicle when I come out of the woods. My cousin lost a double 20 ga when he leaned it against the back bumper while loading the dog into the back seat. lesson learned
