I'm looking for someone to help me get started in shooting a traditional bow. I need access to some longbows or recurves in the 35 to 40 lb. range. I live in the Brewer area and will travel. Thanks Ivan

Wish I could help you. Spend a lot of time up there in the summer, but won't be there till July. Hopefully someone will come through.

See if you can locate someone from Maine Traditional Archers. They have a WEBSITE and were quite active, not sure whats going on with them these days, As ive been out of the loop myself.

Ivan,
I live in Greenville so about 2 hours away. Unfortunately, I’m away on military orders for a while. The only bow we have in that range is my wife’s. I’m happy to let you shoot it when I get back, just can’t borrow it as it’s the only one she has! Try Old Town archery, I know the owner has a bow made by someone local. I don’t know if he carries any but he might know of local trad archers. I believe they have a winter shoot. Last year the LL Bean Outlet in Bangor had cheap Sage kits at the store.

Ivan, do you know where the Archery shop is in Old Town. If you do give them a call and I'm sure they will help you.

Thanks for the reply. I have been up to Old Town but he didn't have much. I may go up again and check for more info.
