Dwyer dauntless or endeavor suggestions
«

I've only shot recurves before but somehow have fallen for the looks of these two bows. I have not shot either. I'm a lucky man and get to order one. Anyone have suggestions or thoughts on how they compare to eachother and to a recurve? Im also waiting to hear from them if there is a way to test shoot them before i order.

Never shot either, but would love to know about being able to try one out. I love the look of the traditional.

Dauntless is one of the best longbows I have ever shot.

I recently picked up a used Endeavor. It is very quiet and I am truly impressed as how it shoots. I am trying to talk myself out of ordering a new one with different woods.

2 different animals for sure same great craftsmanship. The dauntless is more my style, but the Endeavor I owned was by far the easiest pointing bow I ever shot. It was also the best foward handled ,highly reflexed bow I've shot. Mine was 58" so not ultra short. Both would make wonderful investments. I been wanting to shoot their original for a long time!

It sounds like either bow would be a solid choice. I wish i could shoot them first. As its going to be an extremely special bow so i want to enjoy shooting it and it wont be cheap either. Unfortunately they do not have bows they can ship out to test. May have to make the 3.5 hour drive.

Might come down to 2 things. If you want a shorter bow or a longer bow.You can get by with a shorter length in the Endeavor I believe.
Aesthetics might be an issue for you.The Dauntless has more of the traditional longbow look.
I had his Defiant and Original longbow. But not the 2 you are looking at.
I never heard a bad thing about either bow you are looking at from owners and or reviews of those models on websites.
If you can make the trip to try and discuss bows with bowyer it might be worth the 3.5 hour trip.
You might be able discuss woods, see bows, try different lengths and maybe even get the grip perfected in size to exactly what you want.
He makes a pretty bow and his tip work is hard to beat IMO.

Really like that Endeavor little bit of finger pinch with my 30.5" draw but not terrible for a hunting bow. The one I shot was smooth quick and quiet, the quiet part matters most to me in a hunting bow. I love turkey hunting and that is a turkey blind bow for sure. If I did not own a 58" Shrew that I like a great deal I would get one.

I owned a Dauntless and it was a stunning bow both in looks and in performance. The only reason I sold it was it was a second hand purchase and n the heavy side for me. I will own another one sometime in the future.... they are great bows: Fast; quiet; dead in hand!

Well i heard back from them and unfortunately they do not have any bows theybare able tonship out to test. I have decided on the dauntless over the endeavor but there is now a new bow in the running a tall tines recurve so the dilemma continues

I have a Dauntless on the way. It should be ready very soon. I shot one way back when and all I remember was how well it fit my hand, and how freakin quiet it was. Can't wait for it to arrive. In fact, I just sent an email to nag sue to see how close we are. :-)

The Dwyer bows seem like one of the best values out there, so I think you should go for it.

The new Dauntless arrived! Bacote and ash, 43@28. Kind of a plain Jane, but a beautiful bow. Dave does awesome work, and the Dwyers are an absolute pleasure to work with.
