From all the smartem remarks I have come to the conclusion that you must have  earned them somehow. Probably from dishing it out!
But I like your build, looking good, the bow is.  :clapper:

So, why do you pre cut the boo to shape?  :dunno:

If you don't pre cut, pre shape and pre thin the boo will be too thick for a backing.

So, why do you pre cut the boo to shape?  :dunno:

I have a pattern that is the exact shape of the bow I want.

Or I could layout a bow pattern just like you glass bow guy's do.

After rough flattening the belly side of the boo, I lay the pattern on the flat side and trace it out. Then cut to that line, then thin and taper the boo thickness to what I want. Can you imagine trying to draw a pattern on the round back side of the boo?

Then after the bow is all glued up, all I need to do is cut along the edge of the boo pattern and there is my bow.

How do flatten your Bamboo, Roy?

I run it through my drum sander.

All I want is a flat surface to layout my bows pattern.

The nodes hardly affect the flattening process.

Then after I cut out the boo to the bows shape, I then taper the boo thickness to 1/8th at riser to 1/16th at the tips with my edge sander and a toothing plane. That's how I get the boo backing to a flat tapered surface.

It looks like you flatten the nodes, but leave the rind?
Thats one thing that sucks about milling Bamboo into lams, you loose a lot of good, strong fibers :banghead:
