Just purchased a Chek-Mate Hunter II recurve - 2 limb set (62" limbs; one set 46#'s at 28" - Just right! and the second set is 64#'s at 28" - too heavy!!). Beautiful bow overall. Brace height is currently set at 7 7/8". Can anyone share if this is in the ball park or should it be higher/lower? I have no experience with these bows at all. Thanks!

I would start at about 7 3/8 and work my way up. There will be a quiet spot before 8 1/4. They were a great shooting bow, grip was a bit fat for me.

Thank you for the replies. This information is helpful. While the noise is not bad at 7 7/8" I get a bit of a "twang" upon release.

I set mine at 8 1/8". Marc suggests between 7 1/2 and 8 1/2 depending on the shooter.
Congrats, you've got a great bow. I've got a Hunter I, Hunter II and a Crusader longbow. Wouldn't trade them for anything.

Thanks Jock. I appreciate the information. After trying different arrow combinations the 7 7/8" brace height seems to be working well for me. Last evening I was shooting at 15 yards and had 3 4" groups. Hard to complain about that!
