First let me say thank you to Vermonster13.
My name is Rob and I am Cristian's grandfather.
Cristian is 1 of 7 grandchildren.(6 grandsons)
His father was hurt in an accident at work.(broke his back and is paralyzed from the waist down) He is a single father on a tight fixed income.
When Cristian was 18 mos. old he had seizures.
He was diagnosed with a golf ball sized tumor on the left front lobe of his brain.
The specialists (they called in 3)said they didn't want to do surgery because that type of surgery has never been done on a child that young.
His chance of survival without surgery was 0% with surgery wasn't much better.
The family decided some chance was better than no chance so the number 1 specialist
(best in the country)set the date.
At 20 months old Cristian went into Children's Hospital for surgery, chemo and radiation.
He spent a year in there except for 2 days he got to come home for Christmas.
When they where finished with surgery, they put his right arm in a sling and tied it down so he wouldn't use it.(left side of brain works right side of body) They didn't want him to strain his brain.(no pun intended)
Well he was in the sling long enough that his brain forgot how to use his right arm.
He is now nine years old and with a lot of therapy,we finally got him using his right arm with hand eye coordination.
