Vintage Wing Thunderbird Lockwood Riser Info
« on: December 31, 2020, 12:28:06 PM »
Happy New Year, Archers!

I have what appears to be a unique Wing Thunderbird from early 1967 with a Lockwood riser.  Shoots great!

Very little information exists about this bow, as most Thunderbirds from March 1967 were made with Formica Bow Flex for the riser.
I was able to find these old links describing a Lockwood Thunderbird:

Any other TradGang members have additional knowledge of Lockwood riser Thunderbirds from Wing?  What was the last serial number made with a Lockwood Riser in 1967?

Note this bow has no white overlays or quiver mounting holes on the back of the bow.

Sure looks like the riser on my AMF era Thunderbird.
We are all here because we are not all there.

Thunderbirds from the AMF era catalogs and for sale ones that I’ve seen had quiver mount holes and white overlays on the back of the riser.

This one has neither and looks exactly like the catalog page from 1967.

Yeah, mine has the white overlays  and quiver bushings at the fades, but looks like the same material?
