what steel material for making my own BH adapters???
« on: January 02, 2021, 11:45:32 PM »
so i have my own design for a glue on/glue in adapter just for my water buff setup and it's tuned and i'm happy to go ahead and make a few on the lathe. i had the prototypes made out of hi-tensile bolts but what material should i make the real hunting ones out of??

do you not like the ones made by people like Ethics Archery? they are stainless steel and seem bombproof.

You can use A2 steel out of 9 or 10 mm stainless steel spear fishing arrows and you need to find some body to trim from that into your insert outsert system. Maybe a gunsmith can have the tools for it or business in tool/screws building.
. There is a big community of spear fisher in Australia and BIG fish to chase so you should find easily that kind of stuff in spearfishing store and easily in 160 to 180 cm long shafts to be cut
La critique est aisée mais l'art est difficile.

4140 prehard would seem like a good choice. Already hardened to a tough state but still machinable.
