Why do they not measure all the way to the front of the broadhead when measuring FOC? it sure seems like your numbers would change  greatly depending on the length of head.

I know nothing about FOC but I agree with you, it seems you would measure the entire arrow

It's just a number.  They could measure to anywhere they wanted to.  But to be comparable, everybody has to measure the same.

By measuring to the back of point/end of arrow shaft, it's consistent across all arrows.  One would lose that consistency if one measured to the end of the points, which, as you note, can vary in length.  However, that minor difference in length wouldn''t amount to more than 1-2% of FOC.

For your own purposes, you can do it any way you like, as long as you do it consistently.  Of course, your results won't be comparable to others unless you measure to back of point.

Well when finding the balance point do you take the point off? Of course not so why use that when figuring FOC- forward of center(balance point) when point is installed.

IMO the whole arrow measurement should be used because you are wanting to know what YOUR arrows measure. No two individuals arrows are alike anyway.

Agree with McDave, for consistency.  You would never get the same # if you measured your field tip arrows to your BH arrows, and what is out front really affects spine, No?
