There is a law subordinate to Newton's law that goes like this.

"A finished riser block, unsupported in the presence of the earth's gravitational pull, will always land on it's feathered fade."

And so it was with the trade bow riser as it fell from the form fully slathered in EA40.    :o     With no other riser to take it's place the brakes were put on the lay up and the glass, lams and tip wedges that were also on the form became trash.  Luckily the remaining parts were not yet coated with glue.

No pictures cause I'm hoping that Roy's law:  "It didn't happen wif out pitchers" will somehow influence the time warp and undo the event. I'll give it 24 hours.   :)

Damn that sucks Mike.

Yeah,  I can use the damaged block in another build but not in this trade bow.   The length is too critical.   Onward!!

Rainman, some of my exclamations immediately after were not so funny.  Luckily no children were around.!!  :biglaugh:

Thanks Shredd for a very nice bow. I haven’t shot a bow from someone else for several years. The bow I got in the swap is mid 40’s and 62”...perfect. Has a good amount of reflex and feels pretty quick with good tension on the string at brace height. It shoots really nice for me.

You got a nice bow there Bird
Nice job Shredd :jumper:

A lot of good looking bows being made.  I need to step up get my trade bow glued up.

I got a set of risers glued up and a couple of weeks back then started to true them up on my thickness sander. Unfortunately, the adjusting table quit working and required a complete disassembly and rebuild.  I ordered the needed parts, rebuilt/assembled everything (several times), and finally have it adjusted and working like a new machine.

Here are a few pictures of the risers, bocate and Brazilian Rosewood, profile sanded and ready for glue up:

Nice job on the risers Walt

Some day I will figure out why the photos turn 90* when I upload them :banghead:
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.
