Thanks guys. I am not stuck on the one thing I loathe more than sanding..... making strings...

Two weeks left on the build period gents!  How are we looking?  I see a few are about ready to ship, and a couple others getting close.

Personally, I will be gluing this weekend and plan to be final sanding by next weekend.

I’m still slightly overweight on the bow that I would prefer to send, but it’s on a strict diet and the weight is coming down. 🙂

Been waiting for some special veneers to arrive and I think they just hit the front porch.   Got a house full of guests until Monday.  I should glue up Monday afternoon.

Garage door spring broke last night just got it fixed.   Lucky to find a good guy.

Nice Dave.

Scrape the other side and there goes the 3.5 #.

I got it back to being straight, but the weight didn’t change. I think that I had better leave well enough alone. I’m afraid that much more scraping might make the limbs unstable. It’s about 3 1/2# over weight. So, here’s where I ask my victim this question.
I have two bows that I can ship to you. One is right on your lower weight and shoots well. It’s a nice bow but it has a couple of minor cosmetic flaws. The bamboo sometimes tries to cup during glue up and a couple of small areas have glue lines that show.
The other is the bow in the above picture. I think that it’s a prettier bow than the first and it’s a bit better performer, but it’s 3 1/2 pounds over your max weight requirement. It’s likely to lose a bit more weight with final sanding and shooting in.
I would be grateful if the victims who haven’t yet received a bow would let me know what their preference would be.
Thanks.
Dave.

I am at the finishing stages, I have been shooting it in a bit today, so far so good. Next is some final sanding and finish. Hopefully I will get that done this weekend.

Does it still qualify for swap bow if I was having so much fun I shot it enough to call it a used bow?  :archer2:

I would be happy with 3-1/2# over woodcarver

I’m fine with anything within 10#’s of the max weight I listed.

I received new glass and veneers from Kenny while out of state last weekend.   Got the bow glued up on Monday evening, should have it ready for a finish tomorrow evening or Sunday.
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.

I spoke with canopyboy today and we figure he won't be able to make either deadline.  All good though, I had names available to shuffle around.  We are still good to go with everyone receiving a bow, and hopefully we can get Dave in next year.  We are at 8/17 received now.

Nice bows Lonnie and Dave! Dave I'd be fine with a little over weight.

Dave there is nothing wrong with a bow 3.5 pounds heavier. And like you said it will lose a couple pounds after a couple hundred shots. The bow I shipped to Mike was 2 pounds over his max, I just didn't tell him, LOL.

Sorry to hear canopyboy had to drop out, you guys should see the beautiful longbow he made me a couple years ago.

Walt good to see you are healed up, hope all is well.

Bow on top.

Bottom bow is a Kenny bow.

The wolf carving on right side was done by Dave, wood carver 2.

Thanks and it shoots very well...

I forget the name of some of the wood he used but his Dad had it in their shop for a long time.

I felt honored Dave used it in a bow for me.
