Got the limbs squared away and the sight window cut in last night.  Shaping ye olde grip and hopefully shooting some arrows tonight!

Tim is out of town for the weekend and will hit us up Monday.

Got sight window and shelf finished up.  Got the grip shaped enough to hold it and put 100 arrows through it.  Shoots nice, but she's a little thumpy.  Hopefully shaping the tips cleans that up.

Thanks Roy.
I spent some time shooting both bows in. The one on the left has over 250 arrows through it and the lighter bow has 60 or 70. They both put the arrows right where I’m looking
I should be shipping this week.
Dave.

Here is where I stand. Have to take a break from it today, wife's birthday. Have the string it will ship with on there and nock point set. Everything is sanded to 80 grit. Need to shape tips and final sand/coat. Should ship this week.

Side note:  I really hate that I need to put an overlay on the back to cover the veneer splice.  Any ideas on how to put it on there without covering the entirety of that wild graft section?  Drawing a blank on any other way than running it all the way up the sight window.

I have seen bows that in shaping the grip the part where the splice was was gone Dow to riser wood.
Also have seen that part ground flat and a short overlay covering it.

Nice!!  How about a pc of clear glass for overlay to round the grip a bit if that's the idea?
Stay sharp, Kenny.

Dave,

Those are both great looking bows, personally I like the heavier one.
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.

Chris,
Looking good!
I have used a small piece  6” +/-, of big horn sheep, bison, water Buffalo, or antelope horn to cover the splices.  They shape easy and look good when finished.

My trade bow is sprayed and curing right now.  The string length is an odd size so I will build some back up strings for it this week, add the shelf rest and side plate, the get it shipped.
