I got my first potential swap bow glued up and I glued up a footed riser as well. Maple and cherry with wenge accents.
Pictures tomorrow after I take them out of the clamps.

The Mrs. sent me a pic from her car this morning showing -17. With no heat in the shop I may have to replace all my adhesives.

Lonnie that sucks.

We are lucky here, it's 32 degrees, but we have freezing rain now on top of the foot of snow we have.

Hope the power stays on but we have a generator that runs all we need for the house.

Shreddy boy, I don't wanna hear about how warm it is down there:)

Skeets...  I got a small 16" x 16"  insulated box with a 15 or 20 watt bulb to keep my ea40 warm when it gets below 70 to make it easier to spread...  You might want one just to keep your stuff from freezing... If you got a lot of stuff you wanna keep warm, an old fridge with a light bulb in it should work good...

Dang, I never thought about that. I have perfectly good bow oven that would do just that.

Sounds like a good one for the tips and tricks thread.

Make an insulated partition and section off your oven so you are not wasting energy heating up the whole thing...

Skeets...  Throw it in the tips and tricks thread...  Tell them Shredd sent yah...

Some good progress going on it looks like.

Me? Well, I stared at that scrap I was contemplating making lams out of and decided I should order some new bandsaw blades. I tweaked the last good one helping my daughter rough out a stave and now it leaves a bit of gouge every pass around. Suppose now I have a few days before I need to go stare some more.

Max, can you explain how that top form works? Is it both for DR and straight limbed bows?

Bue It's a recurve form, I can make different riser shapes by adding pieces to the form, back and belly, look in the picture the 1/4" piece under the riser with all the kerf cuts in it, and I can add 1/8" on top of that, the pieces on the top form just close the gap down to the fire hose. The riser on the form is the smallest back to belly I have made and may look like a long bow riser.

The second one from the bottom looks like a Fred bear bow.
