That bloodwood will look good next to the walnut.
I spent a couple of hours sanding my second riser and tapering the cherry core and bamboo lams. The back lam was really thick. I had already planed it to a tapered profile and it was still more than a quarter inch thick. I got it a bit more than halfway to where I want it and left it till tomorrow. My hands get sore after pressing hard against the sander. The belly lam is thinner and I sanded it most of the way and burnt it black. I’m hoping to glue this one up tomorrow.
I’m going to glue up at least one more blank and then I’ll finish the best one.
